Raspberry, coconut and chia jam

This has to be one of the easiest recipes you can find. Kids can help to wash and crush fresh raspberries and mix them with other ingredients. Unlike other traditional jams, this is free from refined sugar, which is an added bonus.


  • ⅓ cup fresh raspberries
  • 2 tsp desiccated coconuts
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup to taste (optional)


  1. Roughly crush raspberries with a fork.
  2. Add chia seeds, desiccated coconut to the crushed raspberries, mix together, and leave for 30 minutes.
  3. Great to have on toast, scones, or stir into yoghurt or porridge.
