Quick hummus
This is a classic party snack. You can make a big batch and save some to make hummus crackers.
Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas or 1 ½ cups cooked chickpeas
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (1 large lemon)
- ¼ cup (60 ml) well-stirred tahini
- 3 garlic clove, minced
- 2 or 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- 2 to 3 tablespoons water
- Pinch of ground caynne pepper, paprika and/or sumac
Method
- In a food process blitz the chickpeas.
- Add all the other ingredients to the food processor.
- Taste - add more of each of the ingredients if needed. Remember to taste after adding each of the ingredients.
